Taino Indigenous Guanin Pendant Amulet painted Gold, Silver and Copper

Taino Indigenous Guanin Pendant Amulet painted Gold, Silver and Copper

The indigenous people of the Caribbean referred to an alloy of gold, silver, and copper as "Guanín." This alloy was often crafted into necklaces or pendants for the Cacique (chief).

Inspired by this tradition, we have recreated this piece on a smaller scale. Our versions come in GOLD, SILVER, and COPPER colors. They are molded to represent the symbol of Guanin, as traditionally depicted by our ancestors, who combined and hammered these metals together. Our pieces are handcrafted and painted using polymer clay and metallic paints. They are set on a 23” wax cord with six distinctive wooden beads and a secure barrel clasp.

This amulet makes a perfect gift for yourself or someone who appreciates Taino culture and traditions.
